How long does pet furniture assembly actually take?

“Furniture” in the pet aisle usually means flat-pack wood or engineered panels. That’s normal. What’s not normal is pretending it pops open like a soft carrier.

Rough planning ranges (solo, first time, clear floor):

  • Small litter enclosure / compact cabinet: often 45–90 minutes.
  • Mid-size wooden dog crate furniture: often 1.5–3 hours.
  • Large kennels with dividers, trays, or wheels: plan a half day and a second person for panel lifts.

Your pace depends on tool access (screwdriver / hex keys usually included or listed), whether you sort hardware first, and whether the instructions match the variant.

Before the box arrives

1. Clear a floor area larger than the finished footprint.

2. Check the PDP for “assembly required” and any two-person notes.

3. Decide where it lives before you build — many assembled furniture pieces are heavy to move and generally non-returnable once assembled (see the returns policy).

After assembly

Wipe dust, check latch/door alignment, introduce the pet slowly (treats, door open at first for crates).

Processing (typically 1–3 business days per shipping policy) starts after order confirmation; assembly time is your calendar after delivery — don’t confuse the two.
